Allyson Adair

Album: Lark Song

Picture
The lark sings in the stillest hour of the morning to herald the coming of the dawn. It is this moment - posed on the edge of the unknown - that has inspired Adair's debut album, "Lark Song".

Writing and recording across two continents, Allyson has worked with some incredible musicians in both Seattle and Bangkok to craft some serenely beautiful arrangements of her original songs.
Listen to Shining Night, a song inspired by the poem "Sure on this Shining Night" by James Agee (1909-1955), and Psalm 139.

Lark Song - Allyson Adair

Adair’s voice combines the soaring range of the operatic soprano with the rich narrative of folk singing, infusing Celtic, classical and New Age motifs with Christian themes. Lyrical melodies unfold over an ever-flowing tapestry of harp, piano and strings. Spiritual and secular worlds mingle, from the raw confession of Wings of Peace and the reliving of a treasured memory through River Song, to the Hildegard-inspired chant of Clarissima Mater.
